His primary research interest focuses on endocrine disrupting compounds within agriculturally dominated watersheds, such as the Elkhorn River in Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kolok earned his doctoral degree from the University of Colorado. He is the author of <em>&#8220;Modern Poisons,&#8221;<\/em> a brief introduction to contemporary toxicology.<\/p>\n<p>This caf&eacute; is part one of a two-part caf&eacute; partnership with the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and their current exhibition, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bemiscenter.org\/art\/exhibitions\/continous-service-altered-daily.html\">David Brooks: Continuous Service Altered Daily<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Science Caf&eacute;s involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone (21 and older) and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation. A scientist gives a brief presentation followed by a Q-and-A period.<\/p>\n<p>Pizza will be provided for the first 50 people.
