Lokesh Jha, Saurabh Kapur, Mike Strupp<\/strong> and <strong>Laura Ulmer,<\/strong> scored in the top five of the online American College of Gastroenterology&rsquo;s (ACG) annual preliminary GI Jeopardy competition out of the 135 GI programs that entered. Other institutions scoring in the top five include Duke University Hospital, Indiana University School of Medicine, the University of California Medical Center (San Francisco) and the University of Iowa Hospitals &amp; Clinics.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the five top-scoring programs can send two trainees to represent their program at the final GI Jeopardy during the Annual ACG Meeting and Postgraduate Course in Orlando, Fla. in October.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Drs. Lokesh Jha and Saurabh Kapur will represent UNMC in the final competition that consists of two rounds of questions before a live audience. In the first round, all five teams will compete against one another. The three top scoring teams will participate in a second round.&nbsp; Each member of the team that wins the competition will be awarded $1,000 toward a round trip ticket to the 2018 ACG Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course in Philadelphia, plus a trophy for their program.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Alex Hewlett, the GI Fellowship Program director, said he is very excited and proud of their program scoring in the top five to advance to the finals and congratulates the entire GI Division faculty and fellows for their hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNMC&#8217;s Division of Gastroenterology &amp; Hepatology trainee team, made up of Drs.
