Nebraska Medicine announced Wednesday the organization’s partnership with The Lane Thomas Foundation<\/a> and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center to help pediatric transplant patients and their families. <\/p>\n

The Lane Thomas Foundation was formed by Matt and Melissa Graves after the sudden and traumatic loss of their son, Lane, before his third birthday. The Graves wanted a way to honor Lane and to support families the way others have supported them.<\/p>\n

The Lane Thomas Foundation’s primary goals include relieving families of financial burdens experienced during the transplantation journey, such as lodging, transportation and food, and reducing the number of children who die each year because no donor match could be found. <\/p>\n

“Melissa and I created the foundation in honor of our beautiful boy, Lane, in order to do something positive for other families,” Matt Graves said. “We have been overwhelmed by the support and love we have been shown from across the country. We believe we have found an impactful way for us to help others in similar circumstances and ease some of their burdens so these parents can focus on their child.”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
