{"id":60529,"date":"2017-11-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2017\/11\/16\/chain-developmental-core-seeking-grant-applicants\/"},"modified":"2017-11-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T06:00:00","slug":"chain-developmental-core-seeking-grant-applicants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2017\/11\/16\/chain-developmental-core-seeking-grant-applicants\/","title":{"rendered":"CHAIN Developmental Core seeking grant applicants"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Applications are being accepted for the Chronic HIV and Aging In NeuroAIDS (CHAIN) Developmental Core grant program.<\/p>\n<p>The program is designed to mentor and support new investigators and new ideas in HIV\/AIDS research related to effects of chronic HIV infection, co-morbidities, and aging on the central nervous system (CNS) including sex differences and viral reservoirs.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are being accepted from junior investigators and from established investigators in other fields applying their expertise to HIV\/AIDS. All applicants must have faculty-level appointments within the University of Nebraska system. Applications must adhere to several criteria and will undergo a rigorous, objective review process.<\/p>\n<p>Developmental grant recipients gain rapid financial support for their studies and access to many <a href=\"https:\/\/unmc.edu\/pharmacology\/research\/centers\/chain\/cores\/index.html\">CHAIN Center core resources<\/a>. The success of the Developmental Core, and continued National Institute of Mental Health funding, depends on subsequent grants and publications arising from work supported by the CHAIN Center Developmental Grants.<\/p>\n<p>Developmental grants can be awarded for up to $50,000 for one year.<\/p>\n<p><a
