The center has been receiving funding from the CARE Act since 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the center receives funding to serve uninsured and underinsured individuals living with HIV, as well as funding to serve women, infants, children and youth. The Specialty Care Center also manages the Nebraska AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and works closely with the Nebraska AIDS Project (NAP) to ensure individuals living with HIV have access to case management services, shelter, and other resources, available through the Nebraska Ryan White Part B program.<\/p>\n<p>To mark World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, Jasmine Marcelin, M.D., assistant professor, posted a blog on the website of the UNMC Division of Infectious Diseases recounting the story of Ryan White and detailing the efforts UNMC has undertaken with its funding. UNMC health care professionals also appeared in a video that was created to mark the 25th anniversary of the program.<\/p>\n<p><a
