Talk about your job and what you like best about it: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout my life, I have worked closely with hospitalized children. I have worked with children with cancer, diabetes, and many other illnesses, but the children that had experienced traumatic experiences really impacted me. As the principal investigator of my own lab, I am now pursuing research examining the physiological effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) where I hope to someday impact the treatment of both children and adults with this debilitating disease. The ability to pursue my main passion (science) while at the same time improving lives is without a doubt the best part of this career.<\/p>\n

List three things people may not know about you:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. My wife and I take in rescue animals. We currently have two Corgis and two cats. Our goal is to someday run an animal sanctuary where we can rehabilitate and find homes for more animals, but right now our jobs keep us quite busy as it is!<\/p>\n

2. I am becoming an avid disc golfer, and I try to practice\/play as much as I can in my free time. My goal is to join the professional disc golf association next year and start competing in tournaments.<\/p>\n

3. My wife and I bought our first home a year ago, and it is almost 100 years old. When I am not rescuing animals or playing disc golf, you will find me working on something in that old house (and trust me, there is always something that needs fixing!).<\/p>\n
