She will present &#8220;Research to Practice: Evidence-Based Strategies for Active Learning,&#8221; during the Audrey Solberg Smith Distinguished Lectureship for Teaching Excellence.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture is open to anyone. A reception will be held on the Omaha campus from 4:30-5 p.m. followed by the lecture from 5 to 7 p.m. at the College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science, Room 3030. The lecture also will be simulcast via Internet protocol (IP) video to nursing divisions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kearney &#8211; Room 102\n<li>Norfolk &#8211; Room 189\n<li>Scottsbluff &#8211; Room B132\n<li>Lincoln &#8211; Room 305<\/ul>\n<p>The annual lectureship, which promotes learning skills and outstanding teaching, is presented by the UNMC College of Nursing and is made possible through the University of Nebraska Foundation by an endowment from Audrey Solberg &#8220;Solly&#8221; Smith. She graduated with a degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in 1947 and a bachelor&#8217;s degree in nursing from the UNMC College of Nursing in 1965.<\/p>\n<p>Learning outcomes will include: research as it applies to online learning; translating research into specific design strategies and techniques; developing strategies to increase engagement and motivation; and using learning objectives and alignment to select appropriate games and simulations for curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is required. Continuing nursing education credits will be available.
