This week, we learn more about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Name:<\/b> Barb Wright-Kennedy\n<li><b>Hometown:<\/b> Denver, Colo.\n<li><b>No. of years at UNMC:<\/b> 36 years in August<\/ul>\n<p><b>Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.<\/b><br \/> <br \/>\nI started at UNMC in the department of pediatrics working on the infant\/child car seat loan program. When the grant was not renewed, I moved to the public relations department where I stayed for about 14 years as the office manager. This job allowed me to learn a lot about the campus and meet and work with many interesting people. <\/p>\n<p>I have been a workstation support tech in IT for the past 20 years. In this role, I provide IT support to the departments of family medicine, radiology and radiation oncology in the College of Medicine as well as to the department of medical imaging &amp; therapeutic sciences (MITS) in the College of Allied Health Professions. I truly enjoy helping the faculty, staff and residents in these departments.<\/p>\n<p><b>Innovation is one of UNMC&#8217;s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group demonstrating innovation at UNMC.<\/b><br \/> <br \/>\nThere are many new and innovative things going on around campus every day. One thing that I was able to be a small part of was the launching of the SIM-NE trucks. I was able to help the SIM-NE team finish setting up the PCs in the trucks. What a great program this is to help train personnel for Nebraska EMS agencies and rural hospitals! The next innovation coming to campus is the iEXCEL building. This is going to be a remarkable facility that will help train all the health care disciplines on campus using state-of-the-art technology.
