His research revolves around the intersections of language, culture, and notions of everyday in comics and graphic novels. He also focuses on how English is taught to university-level language learners in Nicaragua.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bramlett&rsquo;s teaching interests are wide-ranging and include linguistic theory and structure, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, research methods and comics.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bramlett is currently a member of the executive committee of the International Comic Arts Forum and serves on the editorial boards of <em>INKS: The Journal of the Comics Studies Society <\/em>and <em>The Journal of Comics and Culture. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Science Caf&eacute;s involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone (21 and older) and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation. A scientist gives a brief presentation followed by a Q-and-A period.<\/p>\n<p>Pizza will be provided for the first 50 people.
