Earlier this month, a group of executive staff members from Offutt Air Base in Bellevue toured UNMC. <\/p>\n

The group included Col. Judy Stoltmann, commander of the 55th Medical Group, Col. Mark Anderson, commander of the 55th Medical Operations Squadron, Col. Robert Craig-Gray, commander of the of the 55th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, and Col. Samia Ochia, chief of the medical staff, and other Offutt health professionals. They met with UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., Harris Frankel, M.D., chief medical officer of Nebraska Medicine, and other campus and hospital leaders. <\/p>\n

Col. Stoltmann said it was the first campus visit for the group, but that the collaborative relationship between the Air Force health professionals and UNMC\/Nebraska Medicine was strong. <\/p>\n

“This visit is building on the relationship we already have with the graduate medical education program, our family medicine residents and our physician assistant training,” Col. Stoltmann said, “but there are many other ways we can collaborate with UNMC.”<\/p>\n

After meeting with campus and hospital leaders, the Offutt group toured the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. <\/p>\n

Col. Stoltmann said the group talked about additional training opportunities, including virtual training.<\/p>\n

“We are very impressed with the capabilities of the iEXCEL program and hope we can partake in some future training opportunities,” she said.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
