UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., tonight will make his second appearance on a national television show focusing on rural America. <\/p>\n

\n<\/TABLE>“Rural America Live”<\/a> is an hourlong show that begins at 7 p.m. CDT on RFD-TV, a national digital cable and satellite television channel that is owned by Rural Media Group. Rural Media Group’s founder and CEO, Patrick Gottsch, lives in Elkhorn, Neb. <\/p>\n

Dr. Gold will be joined by Elizabeth Merwin, Ph.D., an endowed professor and executive vice dean of the Duke University School of Nursing and past president of the Rural Nurse Organization. The two will focus on rural nursing, in conjunction with next week’s International Rural Nursing Conference in Nashville. <\/p>\n

Last month, Dr. Gold and UNMC College of Nursing Dean Juliann Sebastian, Ph.D., appeared on the show to discuss critical health care needs of rural areas and what UNMC is doing to address them. <\/p>\n

“Rural America Live” — formerly titled “RFD-TV Live” — is the longest-running show produced by RFD-TV. The hourlong program gives viewers the chance to interact with each week’s panel of experts in an interactive call-in format, allowing them to learn about matters of interest to rural America. <\/p>\n
