Applications are being accepted through Sept. 24 for the Oct. 10 event, at which a grant of up to $20,000 for one year will be awarded to one of three finalists at the GP IDeA-CTR Annual Scientific Meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to raise awareness of clinical and translational research (CTR)  by promising scholars who are developing innovative tools and methods for medical research. The winning investigator\/team will receive a pilot grant award to catalyze cutting-edge research that may translate to a sustainable product or a larger federal grant.  <\/p>\n<p>The winner also will receive access to resources of the GP IDeA-CTR to support research efforts. <\/p>\n<p><b>Research pitches will be judged on:<\/b> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scientific merit;\n<li>Promise in translating research to innovative tools for CTR;\n<li>Relevance to CTR;\n<li>Multidisciplinary teams; and\n<li>Inter-institutional partners.\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Eligibility:<\/b> <\/p>\n<ul><Li>Current full-time faculty appointment at a participating institution;<\/p>\n<li>Eligible to apply for NIH funds;\n<li>Project relevant to clinical and\/or translational research; and\n<li>Must be able to attend and present pitch at CTR Superstar Lunch on Oct. 10 if chosen as a finalist.<\/ul>\n<p>Researchers are not eligible if they currently have funding from any other IDeA program<\/p>\n<p><b>Participating Institutions:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UNMC\n<li>University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO)\n<li>University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL)\n<li>University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK)\n<li>Boys Town National
