{"id":62886,"date":"2018-09-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-09-06T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2018\/09\/06\/olson-center-event-explores-mother-daughter-dynamic\/"},"modified":"2022-08-29T15:53:29","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T20:53:29","slug":"olson-center-event-explores-mother-daughter-dynamic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2018\/09\/06\/olson-center-event-explores-mother-daughter-dynamic\/","title":{"rendered":"Olson Center event explores mother-daughter dynamic"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Judy Neville, pharmacy technician program director in the UNMC College of Pharmacy, will share her unique relationships raising her four daughters, as Pat Curran, family counselor with Catholic Charities, outlines the nuances of the mother-daughter relationship and provides tips on how to heal old wounds in the next Olson Center Brown Bag, from noon to 1 p.m. on Sept. 18.<\/p>\n<p>The event will explore the connection between a mother and daughter, which starts as an easy exchange &#8212; a mother caring for a daughter&#8217;s basic needs &#8212; and changes over time. Toes are stepped on, there&#8217;s blaming, apologizing and letting go. During this event, Neville and Curran will explore how mothers and daughters learn and adjust to each other&#8217;s movements throughout their lifespan. <\/p>\n<p>Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345.  Bring lunch and refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>The lectures are free, but the cost is $10 to obtain nursing credit. Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration. <\/p>\n<p>Note:  The UNMC College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center&#8217;s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is provided for 1.0 contact hour under ANCC criteria.
