The University of Nebraska Foundation is spreading holiday cheer once again this year by sponsoring student events on five University of Nebraska campuses.

\nAt UNMC, as part of finals week, the Pancake Man will be flipping pancakes like only he can. He will perform at a free pancake feed for all UNMC students from 3-6 p.m. on Dec. 11 in the second floor atrium of the Sorrell Center. Orange juice and sausage will accompany the pancakes.
\n 
\n"I think I speak for all UNMC students when I say how much the pancake feed is appreciated," said Scott Mulder, a biochemistry and molecular biology graduate student in the College of Medicine and treasurer of the UNMC Faculty Senate. "Finals week is grueling. The Pancake Man will provide the perfect break – and a delicious one – to make it through."

\n"Gratitude is at the center of the holidays," said Meg Johnson, assistant vice president, UNMC Development, for the University of Nebraska Foundation. "It’s a time to be thankful for everything and everyone who has sustained our year. At the University of Nebraska Foundation, we’re grateful for everyone’s support and generosity to the University of Nebraska and its students.

\n"Once again, we’ve tossed aside plans for a printed holiday greeting card. Instead, we’re using those funds to make contributions to benefit students on each campus this holiday season."

\nJohnson noted that it’s been an outstanding year for the University of Nebraska Foundation in its fundraising activities. The Chronicle of Philanthropy, a national publication focused on the nonprofit sector, ranks the NU Foundation on a list of America’s 100 Favorite Charities for 2018.

\n"This recognition speaks entirely to what our generous donors have done to support the life-changing and often lifesaving programs and initiatives across the university," Johnson said. "We hope the contributions we’re making for students will bring a little more joy to their holiday season."
