At UNMC, intramural sports aren’t just for students. For decades, faculty and staff teams have formed the backbone of many intramural leagues. In fact, this rich tradition of athletic involvement goes back over 100 years to the days of The Omaha Medical College, the precursor to UNMC<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Using EZLeagues<\/h3>\n

No team? No problem!<\/b>
\nWhether you don’t have a team or you don’t have enough people for a team, free agency may be the answer. Free agents may join a team in need of players or<\/i> start a new team with other free agents. Want to meet new people at the university while playing the sport you love? Sign up in EZLeagues<\/a> as a member of the “Free Agent” team. No accounts or passwords are required. Simply fill out a short online form and click submit. No payment necessary until your second week of play. <\/p>\n

Are you a team captain?<\/b>
\nFirst, click the registration link in EZLeagues<\/a> and select the option to register a new team. After you submit your registration, tell your teammates to register for the team you created (each player must complete his\/her own registration)<\/i>. Last, pay your team’s registration fee at the front desk of the Center for Healthy Living. We accept cash, credit, and personal check. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Participation in intramural leagues has surged to new levels following the Center for Healthy Living’s 2016 renovation, leading to the expansion of existing leagues and the addition of new sports. Volleyball<\/a> remains the perennial favorite among employees and students alike, but, with the addition of “Elite” and “Recreational” divisions across other sports, pickleball<\/a>, basketball<\/a>, and futsal (indoor soccer)<\/a> look to challenge volleyball’s dominance. <\/p>\n
