An “I Love NU” Advocacy Day will be held at the State Capitol on March 27. <\/p>\n

All students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to participate and join other friends of the university at the Capitol to show support for NU, visit and speak with their senators, and share their stories. <\/p>\n

Those interested in participating can visit the Advocacy Day Facebook event page for a detailed schedule and the meeting room number. The event will be held from 9 a.m.-noon, with supporters encouraged to arrive between 8:30-9 a.m. <\/p>\n

Faculty and staff who wish to attend the event during their regular work hours should use vacation or banked\/floating holiday time, and they must receive approval for the time off from a supervisor.<\/p>\n

Background on NU’s budget challenges, an overview of the impact the university makes on the state, and other valuable advocacy-related information is available at the University of Nebraska’s NU Advocates website<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Students, faculty and staff are invited to take a bus, funded by the University of Nebraska at Omaha Alumni Association, to the State Capitol. The bus will load near the Health & Kinesiology building between 7 and 7:30 a.m. in time to get to the Capitol by 9 a.m. The bus will return to the UNO campus by 1:30 p.m. Space is limited to 54 spots, so sign up quickly if you would like to participate. Parking will be available for riders with a UNMC parking permit at the top and bottom levels of the UNO East Garage on the Dodge Street campus.
