Fourteen completed e-learning projects were showcased last week at the Innovators in Education 2019 E-Learning Showcase.<\/p>\n

Students and faculty members unveiled their modules at the event, the sixth showcase since the e-learning program debuted in 2013.<\/p>\n

Dele Davies, M.D., senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and a champion of the e-learning initiative, said he was pleased at the level of quality in this year’s modules, which included representation from all UNMC colleges.<\/p>\n

“One thing that we’ve intentionally moved towards and noticed is that there is consistency now in all the presentations in terms of look, feel and style, which is very important to us,” he said. “We know that we have a quality product based on templates that include components that we have found to be best practice for every module.”<\/p>\n

Several of the modules are now integrated into the curriculum of multiple colleges, as well, which Dr. Davies called a major step forward. In fact, several of this year’s modules deal with pharmacology based on interest from multiple colleges. <\/p>\n

“I’m also pleased that many of these students are second-, third- or fourth-time developers, which speaks to the fact that they enjoy and find benefit in participating,” Dr. Davies said. “And, the faculty advisers involved are mentoring multiple student teams, so we are developing a core group of people who recognize the value of e-learning and are invested in integrating it into the curriculum.”<\/p>\n

Some UNMC faculty members have been involved as many as four times in the E-Learning showcases.<\/p>\n
