{"id":66708,"date":"2019-12-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-26T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2019\/12\/26\/nebraska-medicine-unmc-ranked-among-best-omaha-employers\/"},"modified":"2022-09-02T17:35:13","modified_gmt":"2022-09-02T22:35:13","slug":"nebraska-medicine-unmc-ranked-among-best-omaha-employers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2019\/12\/26\/nebraska-medicine-unmc-ranked-among-best-omaha-employers\/","title":{"rendered":"Nebraska Medicine\/UNMC ranked among best Omaha employers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>A new report by Zippia, a website considered to be one of the nation&#8217;s leading authorities on career-related data, has determined that Nebraska Medicine and UNMC both rank among the top 20 companies to work for in Omaha. <\/p>\n<p>Zippia&#8217;s &#8220;Best Companies to Work for Rankings&#8221; list Nebraska Medicine No. 13, while UNMC comes in at No. 20. <\/p>\n<p>The rankings were based primarily on three major characteristics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary\/pay;\n<li>Company financial health (revenue\/employee, years in business); and\n<li>Diversity (race, gender, politics and education).<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s always nice to be included in rankings like this,&#8221; said Aileen Warren, UNMC assistant vice chancellor for human resources. &#8220;To have both Nebraska Medicine and UNMC on the list is something to be very proud of. We always strive to be one of the best employers in the state, so this is encouraging.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People want jobs that pay well and provide job stability,&#8221; said Henry Shao, CEO and founder of Zippia. &#8220;That&#8217;s why we use data on factors like employee compensation and company financial performance to determine the best places to work throughout America. I would like to congratulate Nebraska Medicine and UNMC for their outstanding achievement and for being ranked as two of the Best Places to Work in Omaha. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The goal of Zippia&#8217;s &#8216;Best Companies to Work for Rankings&#8217; is to provide accurate, comparable, and actionable evaluations of companies,&#8221; Shao said. <\/p>\n<p>All the data are scored and standardized to location and job title so that each company is comparable. Each company is assigned into a potential group based on its size. <\/p>\n<p>Sources of data include the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Federal Election Commission, and Zippia&#8217;s own proprietary collection of resumes and job data. Zippia hand curates the resulting list to remove any potentially inconsistent data.
