I work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary role to ensure excellent treatment for some of our most vulnerable populations. I am passionate about psycho-oncology, and reproductive psychiatry and am actively working to expand our services and research. I am also working with trauma surgery to create a novel support program for victims of violence in our community. Finally, my work allows me to foster my professional interests in medical ethics and healthcare equality.  <\/p>\n<p><b>How I fell in love with psychiatry:<\/b> In truth, I fell in love with all of medicine. All specialties held new information for me to learn and patients to treat. In determining a specialty, I realized that the critical, common thread was caring for patients. Psychiatry allowed me to follow that thread until I understood the tapestry that made the patient, the person.
