The iEXCEL team is working on creative ways to continue interacting, connecting and engaging with faculty and students during the COVID-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n

Due to the current need for social distancing, iEXCEL has temporarily reduced the number of “hands-on” training events in the Davis Global Center and Sorrell Simulation Center. However, the team continues to support selected training, research and development activities, particularly in response to COVID-19 needs of health care providers.<\/p>\n

For example, over the past month, iEXCEL has held personal protective equipment training for Nebraska Medicine physicians and residents, supported faculty with their research and development related to design and techniques for COVID-19 related inventions\/procedures and hosted Facebook Live trainings for rural emergency responders and critical access hospitals across the state. <\/p>\n

Said Pam Boyers, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for iEXCEL: “While several iEXCEL staff are working remotely, a significant number are designated as ‘essential’ workforce and stand ready to support faculty and Nebraska Medicine staff with their patient care, teaching and research missions, and, of course, students with their learning needs.”<\/p>\n
