In lieu of the annual Innovators in Education E-Learning Showcase, UNMC Interactive E-Learning celebrated the success of two cohorts with a digital showcase featuring highlight videos and an animated booklet. <\/p>\n

The two cohorts include teams from the UNMC-funded E-Learning Awards program and teams from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and UNMC Building Excellence in Academics Through STEM (uBEATS) development program.<\/p>\n

The UNMC cohort comprises seven teams of 23 student developers and 12 faculty advisers from Omaha, Lincoln or Kearney. Two teams had topics that transcend professions, including the fundamentals of nutrition and cultural awareness.<\/p>\n

The uBEATS cohort comprises 11 teams of 25 developers from varying academic programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, some of whom are repeat participants or graduates of the UNMC High School Alliance. The uBEATS teams created modules for students in grades six through 12 that focus on different topics in the fields of pharmacology and pathology\/microbiology.<\/p>\n

“I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work that went into the creation of these e-learning projects,” said Dele Davies, M.D., senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and a champion of the e-learning initiative. “These contributions by our faculty, students and UNO collaborators are more important than ever in light of all the changes to the educational landscape due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”<\/p>\n

Peggy Moore, director of e-learning and assistant professor, UNMC College of Allied Health Professions, praised both cohorts for the level of quality in this year’s modules.<\/p>\n

“On top of the program timelines, these two cohorts had the added complexity of project completion during COVID-19 as the university moved to remote work and learning policies,” she said. “Despite these challenges, the teams produced e-modules that will elevate curricula at UNMC and beyond.”<\/p>\n

Moore continued, “I also want to thank our talented E-Learning team who worked tirelessly to support all 60 faculty and student participants. The success of our program is made possible through their diligence and unwavering dedication.” <\/p>\n
