{"id":68453,"date":"2020-09-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/09\/08\/silver-u-recipients\/"},"modified":"2022-08-29T16:52:04","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T21:52:04","slug":"silver-u-recipients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/09\/08\/silver-u-recipients\/","title":{"rendered":"Silver &#8216;U&#8217; recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Congratulations to three members of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation who have been named recipients of the Silver &#39;U&#39; Award.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Silver &#39;U&#39; Award is given to UNMC employees whose overall performance is above and beyond the scope of their position. Employees are nominated by another employee based on their demonstration of one or more of the following UNMC values: innovation, teamwork, excellence, accountability, courage or healing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Silver &#39;U&#39; recipients receive a Silver &#39;U&#39; pin, certificate and shirt. They are invited to a lunch with UNMC Chancellor Gold, to be scheduled at a later date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faith Buso, Administration\/Office Associate II,<\/strong> was nominated for this award by a colleague because of her strong teamwork and willingness to mentor others. Prior to joining the department in January 2018, Faith worked for a decade in several UNMC departments. A colleague noted her thorough understanding of UNMC and Nebraska Medicine policies and systems, including travel, reimbursement and purchasing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pete Danielson, Clinical Research Associate II,&nbsp;<\/strong>joined the department in February 2018. He interfaces with clinic staff, faculty and patients to advance the department&#39;s clinical research efforts.&nbsp;Pete was nominated for this award by a colleague who noted his teamwork, accountability and commitment to research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Lusk, Engineering Technician,<\/strong>&nbsp;has been with the department for nearly a decade.&nbsp;David&#39;s nominator commended him for being an important member of the research lab team and a highly skilled technician. Originally trained as a machinist, David is central to the operation of the lab machine shop and also participates in the lab&#39;s implant testing procedures.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three department staff are recipients of the Silver &#8216;U&#8217;
