{"id":68742,"date":"2020-08-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-24T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/08\/24\/public-health-expectations-outlined-in-unmc-attestations\/"},"modified":"2022-09-02T17:36:52","modified_gmt":"2022-09-02T22:36:52","slug":"public-health-expectations-outlined-in-unmc-attestations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/08\/24\/public-health-expectations-outlined-in-unmc-attestations\/","title":{"rendered":"Public health expectations outlined in UNMC attestations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>UNMC faculty, staff and students are being asked to follow the university&#8217;s public health and safety measures to protect themselves and the entire community. <\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_QlJXL5574o\">Video: Leaders sign attestation documents<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Each of UNMC&#8217;s 4,000-plus students will be asked to sign the UNMC Student COVID Commitment, acknowledging that they understand their responsibility in the fight against COVID-19 and will follow UNMC guidelines and expectations. UNMC&#8217;s more than 5,000 employees also will be asked to sign a similar attestation. <\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, university leaders showed their support of UNMC&#8217;s public health measures by signing their respective attestations. <\/p>\n<p>To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, students, faculty and staff, in part, are expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>wear a face covering;\n<li>wash hands frequently;\n<li>be mindful of physical distancing;\n<li>avoid large in-person gatherings wherever possible;\n<li>use a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/08\/14\/unmc-uno-develop-campus-specific-screening-app-for-covid-19\/\">self-screening tool<\/a>; and\n<li>apply such preventive practices to situations outside the educational environment.<\/ul>\n<p>Students, faculty and staff are asked to access and acknowledge receipt of their respective statements in Canvas. <\/p>\n<p>Campus-related COVID-19 resources, announcements and plans &#8212; including the UNMC Student COVID Commitment and the UNMC Employee Standards statements &#8212; can be found on the UNMC <a
