Jeff Miller, a longtime UNMC employee, has been named assistant vice chancellor for business and finance, effective Aug. 17.
\n

Miller will be responsible for oversight of campus business operations, campus parking, procurement and materiel management, risk management and insurance and the controller’s office.
\n

“I am excited at the opportunity to work with campus leadership on the implementation and execution of strategic initiatives to propel UNMC forward in the fulfillment of our mission,” Miller said. “Additionally, I would like to extend thanks to my direct reports who have been instrumental in accomplishments achieved over the past 10 years and those who have provided leadership and advice throughout my career at UNMC.”
\n

Miller served previously as UNMC’s controller, establishing, reviewing and modifying internal control policy and procedures to mitigate risk and enable efficient operations. He has extensive experience in customer service and in reaching across multiple functional areas on campus.
\n

He’s also prepared financial statements, and was responsible for supervision of payroll, general accounting, cashiering, accounts receivable and sponsored programs accounting departments.
\n

Miller is a certified public accountant and earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
\n
