{"id":69170,"date":"2020-10-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/10\/13\/2020-collaborative-initiative-retreat-set\/"},"modified":"2020-10-13T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T05:00:00","slug":"2020-collaborative-initiative-retreat-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/10\/13\/2020-collaborative-initiative-retreat-set\/","title":{"rendered":"2020 Collaborative Initiative Retreat set"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>The 2020-21 University of Nebraska Collaboration Initiative Retreat will be held at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center on Oct. 30, with a new opportunity to fund research with a global impact.<\/p>\n<p>The Collaboration Initiative, now in its sixth year, is designed to help NU researchers become more competitive for extramural funding. It helps foster meaningful collaborations that leverage the full intellectual capacity of faculty across the University&#8217;s four campuses.<\/p>\n<p>The 2020-21 Request for Applications (RFA) will solicit applications from multi-campus, multidisciplinary teams that help to position them to compete for extramural funding. Topics will not be predefined, but applications must be designed to strengthen the team&#8217;s future competitiveness for extramural funding. The following grants will be available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Team Formation and Publication Grants:<\/b> One-year grants, of up to $7,00 each, to build new research collaborations across University of Nebraska campuses.\n<li><b>Preliminary Data and Application Preparation Grants:<\/b> One-year grants, of up to $40,000 each, to strengthen research collaborations and generate preliminary data critical to extramural research proposal submission.\n<li><b>Team Seed Grants:<\/b> Two-year grants, of up to $150,000 each, to strengthen existing and build new research collaborations among faculty with a track record of extramural research funding.\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<p>Faculty must attend the day-long Collaboration Initiative Retreat to be eligible for funding from this program.
