UNMC is seeking health care workers to join the Healthcare Worker Exposure Responses & Outcomes (HERO) National Registry to help protect and improve the health of frontline workers.<\/p>\n

The HERO Registry is a community of health care workers who voluntarily share what it is like to work and live during the COVID-19 pandemic. The registry is funded through a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Award (COVID-19-2020-001). Coordinated by the Duke Clinical Research Institute, the registry leverages PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network, which UNMC is a member. <\/p>\n

The aim is to gather information from multiple types of health care workers across the U.S. about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes workers who provide direct patient care such as doctors, nurses and therapists. It also includes workers who provide services such as housekeeping, food service, maintenance, etc., in a health care setting.<\/p>\n

Through ongoing surveys, frontline workers have the opportunity to share their experiences and concerns, which will be used to advise future research projects. Health care workers will be offered the opportunity to become involved in other studies, such as clinical trials. <\/p>\n
