Five University of Nebraska Medical Center faculty will be honored March 3 in recognition of their outstanding dedication to education.

\nGeoffrey Talmon, MD, UNMC professor of pathology and microbiology, will receive the Varner Educator Laureate for 2020-21. Dr. Talmon, who also serves as associate dean for medical education in the UNMC College of Medicine, will be honored along with four other educators during the virtual ceremony. 
\n 
\nThe Varner Educator Laureate Award recognizes an individual with sustained achievement in education who has significantly improved the UNMC learning environment through the provision of outstanding educational experiences. 
\n 
\n"The educational mission at UNMC is carried forward by dedicated, caring and talented educators," said Brian Boerner, MD, director of the Interprofessional Academy of Educators. "The 2020-21 Impact in Education Award winners epitomize these qualities through their outstanding efforts and achievements. We congratulate the awardees and thank them for their dedication to our learners and our institution."
