Those who donate will receive a de-stress kit (while supplies last).<br \/>\n<P>The Maverick Food Pantry contributes to the university&#8217;s culture of caring by providing those within the UNMC and University of Nebraska at Omaha communities with food and personal hygiene products and connections to other area resources for support.<br \/>\n<P>On average, the Maverick Food Pantry fills 440 bags during the spring semester. As of last week, the pantry had filled 560 bags for the semester, and still had more requests coming in.<br \/>\n<P>&#8220;Food insecurity has always been a concern in our community. With the added challenges of COVID-19, we find more students and staff are struggling, and so in return we&#8217;ve seen an increase in our requests,&#8221; said Madeline St. Clair, Maverick Food Pantry coordinator. &#8220;We were grateful that UNMC hosted a food drive last semester during De-Stress week for the pantry. The drive provided over 100 donations. With purchasing restrictions, the pantry struggles, so any donations we receive truly make a difference and help us to continue our commitment of serving everyone we can.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><P>A list of preferred donations can be found below (please ensure donations are not expired): <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>peanut butter\n<li>soups\n<li>canned fruits\n<li>canned veggies\n<li>grains (rice, pasta and cereal are the top three)\n<li>pasta sauce\n<li>gluten-free options\n<li>vegan options<\/ul>\n<p><P>Individuals who would like to donate but do not have a car on campus can walk their donations up to staff
