As our community COVID-19 rates continue to drop with increasing immunization rates, I want to thank all of our faculty, staff and students for your resilience and flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic. UNMC Graduate Studies would not have been as successful without your willingness to adapt to change while still striving for educational excellence.
\n

I am happy to announce that classes usually taught in-person but held remotely in 2020 and spring 2021 are expected to return to the in-person mode, with certain possible restrictions, during the summer and fall 2021 semesters. Further, UNMC’s new campus guidance provides greater flexibility for vaccinated individuals, although some precautions remain. Be sure to read the most recent campus guidance updates<\/a>, including the update on COVID-19 vaccination documentation<\/a>, for complete information.
\n

I also would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved in the spring 2021 convocation. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate our talented graduate students in-person this year as they moved on to the next stages of their lives.

This summer issue of Graduate Posts includes highlights of our efforts to make sure every graduate student who wanted to be vaccinated had the opportunity to do so. It also chronicles the journey of some of our extraordinary faculty and students over the past year.
