For some of the participants, it was their&nbsp;second Tough Mudder experience. &quot;It was a great experience, and one that everyone wants to do again next year. This was an opportunity to grow and engage as a team outside of the workplace,&quot; said Ed O&rsquo;Leary, MD, interventional cardiologist and associate professor in the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine.<\/p>\n<p><b>Nursing&#39;s Elizabeth Mollard, PhD, accepted into NIH Health Disparities Research Institute<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth (Libby) Mollard, PhD, has been accepted into the National Institutes of Health&rsquo;s Health Disparities Research Institute. Each summer, the institute hosts a program that supports the development of a scholar from each state. It selects promising scientists early in their careers with individual research projects and stimulates research in the disciplines supported by science on minority health and health disparities. Dr. Mollard, an assistant professor in the UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division, will attend a five-day program, where she and other scholars will hear lectures from prominent researchers, network with NIH scientific program staff across various institutes and centers and participate in a grant-writing session, small group discussions and a mock grant
