Gold, MD, and&nbsp;took part in an informational meeting on rural health. She also visited the Davis Global Center&nbsp;on a tour hosted by Michael Hollins, director of&nbsp;community and business engagement with&nbsp;iEXCEL, and Bob Bartee, vice chancellor for external relations.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I pride myself on doing my homework,&quot; Thomas said, &quot;but I was not prepared for the depth and breadth of the center. It&rsquo;s extraordinary.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>When asked what the UNMC community should know about the Journal Star and World-Herald, she responded that people will think of them as more than just &quot;the newspaper,&quot; if they don&#39;t already.<\/p>\n<p>She likened Lee Enterprises&rsquo; digital reach to the UNMC 500-mile campus, as she&rsquo;d just seen in the Davis Global Center: &quot;Through our robust portfolio of digital, mobile, social and print products, we educate, inform and inspire people not just statewide &#8211; but across the country.&nbsp;We are storytellers, and I look forward to telling UNMC&rsquo;s story &mdash;&nbsp;as it&rsquo;s one that should make all Nebraskans proud.&quot;<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: none;\"><a rel=\"nofollow\"
