I was able to build on the work of John Russell, the previous HR leader, to help the organization evolve into what it is today. Everything has a season, and it is time to let a new leader come in and build on the work the team and I have done over the past seven years.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Our human resources department is stronger than ever because of the commitment shown by Ms. Warren and her team on issues involving employee engagement and career development,&quot; said UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD. &quot;We are very grateful for her dedicated leadership, knowledge and experience and wish her well.&quot;<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-container\">\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ydKAhQx7a-k frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>Under Warren&rsquo;s leadership, the HR team:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Moved UNMC&rsquo;s performance appraisals from a paper to an online system.<\/li>\n<li>Introduced People Are Everything, an online rewards and recognition program at UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.<\/li>\n<li>Remodeled the HR space within the UNMC Administration Center.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthened the Employee Assistance Program with Arbor Family Services to ensure all UNMC locations have access to EAP services.<\/li>\n<li>Introduced Reimagining U, the employee learning and development program for UNMC and UNO employees.<\/li>\n<li>Streamlined HR processes and automated HR forms.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitated the Step-Up! Omaha program on the UNMC and UNO campuses.<\/li>\n<li>Assumed responsibility for the UNMC Payroll Department.<\/li>\n<li>Provided opportunities for professional development and certifications for HR team members.<\/li>\n<li>Provided many COVID-19 campus resources for employees and managers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A 13-member search committee, chaired by Mike McGlade, senior associate dean for administration and director of finance in the UNMC College of Medicine, has been formed to begin a formal search for Warren&rsquo;s successor. Susan Kraft Mann, interim vice chancellor for business, finance and business development, will serve as interim leader of human resources.<\/p>\n<p>Warren joined UNMC on Dec. 1, 2014, as the new assistant vice chancellor for business and finance and director of human resources for UNMC. As HR director, she oversaw employee benefits, the Center for Healthy Living, the Child Development Center, employee relations\/organizational development, the faculty\/employee assistance program and staffing\/compensation\/records and HR information technology.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Before joining UNMC, Warren served as vice president of human resources at First Data and in positions at WorldCom and First National Bank of Omaha.&nbsp;She earned her bachelor&#39;s and master&#39;s degrees from UNO and holds a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. She is a member of several community boards and professional organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Although she is leaving UNMC, Warren emphasized she is not retiring: &quot;I don&rsquo;t have any solid plans right now, but I still have a lot to offer to the Omaha community and am excited about the possibilities.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Until then, her time is sure to focus on three passions: spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, traveling and volunteering in the community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aileen Warren spoke with Chancellor Jeffrey P.
