{"id":73111,"date":"2022-03-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/03\/09\/chri-forum-open-for-submissions\/"},"modified":"2022-03-09T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T06:00:00","slug":"chri-forum-open-for-submissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/03\/09\/chri-forum-open-for-submissions\/","title":{"rendered":"CHRI forum open for submissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>The Child Health Research Institute (CHRI) will hold its annual Pediatric Research Forum on May 5 and 6.<\/p>\n<p>The forum is an opportunity for medical scientists and trainees to network and share their current work via abstract submissions and a poster session.&nbsp;The forum will be held at Children&rsquo;s Hospital &amp; Medical Center. At&nbsp;this time, CHRI is planning for the event to be in person&nbsp;but will have a contingency plan in place.<\/p>\n<p>The event is open for abstract submissions. Information and instructions are available on the Pediatric Research Forum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/chri\/news\/forum\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">home page<\/a>. Everyone who submits will automatically be registered for the event. Open registration for non-presenting attendees will open in mid-March. Eligible submissions will be judged by a review panel, and winners in each category will be invited to present their research at the award ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>William Rizzo, MD, professor in the division of inherited metabolic diseases and CHRI scientific director, and Matthew Halanski, MD, associate professor in pediatric orthopaedic surgery, will deliver the keynote speeches on May 5.<\/p>\n<p>CHRI also is supporting the third annual Medicinal Musings, which highlights the artistic and humanistic aspect of medicine as a complement to traditional research topics. Works of original poetry, prose, photography, art and musical compositions will be collected. While the theme of the forum is centered on child health, related or general topics of physician wellness also are highly encouraged. CHRI is committed to seeking diversity and celebrating the varied backgrounds and identities of authors to amplify all voices and unique experiences in medicine.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: none;\"><a
