{"id":73226,"date":"2022-03-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-24T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/03\/24\/fsa-claims-for-2021-are-due-march-31\/"},"modified":"2022-03-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T05:00:00","slug":"fsa-claims-for-2021-are-due-march-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/03\/24\/fsa-claims-for-2021-are-due-march-31\/","title":{"rendered":"FSA claims for 2021 are due March 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>If you have a balance remaining in your Flexible Spending Account&nbsp;for 2021, you have one week to submit your claims to WageWorks.<\/p>\n<p>The IRS deadline to submit 2021 FSA claims is Thursday, March 31.&nbsp;Any claims from 2021 to be considered for reimbursement must have service dates from Jan.&nbsp;1, 2021, to Dec.&nbsp;31, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Due to a pandemic relief executive order, all unused 2021 FSA funds are eligible to carry over into 2022. This means that you can use the carryover funds for dates of service in this calendar year.&nbsp;After March 31, the carryover will take place, and you will be able to utilize the funds only for 2022 service date claims.<\/p>\n<p>Claims must be submitted to WageWorks to receive reimbursement. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you are enrolled in the qualified high deductible health plan and using a health savings account in 2022, you may want to waive your health care FSA carryover. If this is the case, please contact the&nbsp;campus benefits office.<\/p>\n<p>To access claim information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employees enrolled in the University of Nebraska UMR medical plans for 2021 can go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UMR website<\/a>&nbsp;and select the Login\/Register button in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Once logged in, employees can print out or save their Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for the entire year by clicking on the claims button and entering the corresponding date range. You also can contact UMR for a copy of your EOBs and the EOBs of any eligible dependents by calling 1-844-659-5059.<\/li>\n<li>Employees enrolled in the University of Nebraska Ameritas dental plan for 2021 can go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ameritas.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ameritas website<\/a>&nbsp;and select the Account Access link in the upper right hand corner of the page. Once logged in, employees can print out or save their Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for the entire year by clicking on the claims button and entering the corresponding date range. You also can contact Ameritas for a copy of your EOBs and the EOBs of any eligible dependents by calling 1-800-487-5553.<\/li>\n<li>A summary of all prescriptions for the entire year can be obtained through your pharmacy. However due to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines, this request must be made in person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To check your balance or submit a claim:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log on to <a href=\"https:\/\/firefly.nebraska.edu\/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwNQ==)\/bc\/bsp\/sap\/zneptune\/main.do\">Firefly<\/a>. For help with usernames or passwords, call 402-559-BUZZ (2899).<\/li>\n<li>Click on the Employee Self Service (ESS) tile.<\/li>\n<li>Under the ESS Benefits heading, click the FSA tile.<\/li>\n<li>This will launch your WageWorks account into another window. If you do not see this loading, check your internet settings. The pop-up blocker must be turned off for the account to launch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please do not use your card to submit 2021 claims after Dec.&nbsp;31, 2021. The card can only be used in the current calendar year.<\/p>\n<p>For questions concerning your FSA, please contact WageWorks at 1-877-924-3967 or the Benefits Office at 402-559-4340 or <a
