UNMC’s Howard Gendelman, MD, and his wife Bonnie Bloch, MD, will be honored by the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures at its 19th annual tribute luncheon on April 25 from noon to 1 p.m. at Happy Hollow Club in Omaha and virtually.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gendelman, chair of the UNMC Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience, is best known for his co-discovery of  pathways for HIV\/AIDS therapeutics and cure and novel treatments for Parkinson’s disease.<\/p>\n

Bonnie Bloch, MD, earned her law degree at Boston University prior to completing her medical studies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her numerous professional and volunteer accomplishments include, as educational director of the Jewish Federation of Omaha, helping to develop Israel’s Western Galilee emergency preparedness program.<\/p>\n
