The Great Plains IDeA-CTR has announced new educational and training opportunities.<\/p>\n

Multimorbidity symposium<\/b><\/p>\n

On May 20, from 8 a.m.-noon CST, a virtual multimorbidity symposium is being cosponsored with the Center for Patient, Family, and Community Engagement in Chronic Care Management (CENTRIC). This half-day event will feature national and international speakers discussing several aspects surrounding the concept of multimorbidity. Topics will include the concept and framework of multimorbidity, summarize available methods to assess multimorbidity and relevant outcomes, apply multimorbidity to specialty care settings, review the evidence of multimorbidity interventions and explore health equity for multimorbid individuals. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the speakers through moderated panel discussions. To register for this event, click here<\/a>. Attendance is free. Grant writing workshop<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The GP IDeA-CTR welcomes Paul Casella<\/a>, consultant for the University of Iowa Health Care, for his fourth year of conducting a half-day grant writing workshop at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This event will be held both in person and via webinar on June 7 from 8 a.m.-noon CST. The course will review the principles of good grant writing to produce clear, direct and compelling proposals, discuss the psychology of reviewers and the review process and will include exercises related to distinct elements of a scientific proposal, particularly the "Specific Aims" page. There is no cost to attend. Private consultations with Casella will be available July 6-10 for those who would like coaching on speaking or writing skills. Postdoc grant writing workshop<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, Casella will be holding a hybrid grant writing workshop specific to postdoctoral scholars and their mentors on June 8 at UNMC from 8 a.m.-noon CST, which can be attended in person or via Zoom. Topics will include:<\/span><\/p>\n
