The UNMC College of Allied Health Professions is accepting applications for two new graduate certificate programs — a graduate certificate in\u202fapplied health informatics and a graduate certificate in health care quality improvement.<\/p>\n

The programs will accept their first cohort of students in fall 2022.<\/p>\n

Tanya Custer, distance education director for the college, serves as director of both certificate programs.<\/p>\n

"By enrolling in the certificate programs, practicing health care professionals are able to gain valuable knowledge without having to commit to an entire master’s degree program," Custer said. "If later they decide to enroll in our master of health care delivery science program, the credits can easily transfer in."<\/p>\n

Through the certificate programs, health care professionals will engage in the application and utility of quality improvement or health informatics with the goal of not only optimizing health care service delivery, but also improving the quality and safety of patient care.<\/p>\n

The curriculum is offered by an interdisciplinary team of faculty using an easily accessible, fully online delivery. Students can earn the graduate certificate by completing four courses in their chosen specialty area. Both online interprofessional programs will be housed in graduate studies and administered by the college.<\/p>\n

Applications for both certificate programs are open and due by July 15.<\/p>\n
