UNMC College of Public Health (COPH) Associate Professor Aaron Yoder, PhD<\/a> was recognized during the annual International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health (ISASH) conference with the ISASH President\u2019s Award.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Dr. Yoder was recognized at the annual conference in Fort Collins, Colo. In mid-June. According to the ISASH, the award “recognized the hosts, who, despite continuing flare-ups of the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully put together the first in-person ISASH conference since 2019.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He was also recognized for stepping up to become chair of the ISASH By-Laws Committee and “helping lead an update of the organization\u2019s by-laws.”<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked how he felt about being recognized, Dr. Yoder said “I was not expecting to receive the ISASH President\u2019s Award. It is truly an honor to receive it for a second time over the past three years.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He received the same award in 2020 for serving as a transitional financial officer and helped ensure a “smooth restructuring of ISASH\u2019s financial operations.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Yoder said participating in professional organizations is key for mentoring future professionals as well as his own professional development. <\/span><\/p>\n

“My faculty position in the UNMC COPH allows me to collaborate with some of the best in my field as well as other disciplines related to safety and health. This support and collaboration allow me to be successful at what I do and help others along the way.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Yoder was one of six people recognized at the conference. <\/span><\/p>\n
