The award recognizes employees whose overall performance is above and beyond the scope of their position and demonstrates UNMC values including innovation, teamwork, excellence, accountability, courage and healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI felt gratitude. Sometimes I asked myself if I was on the right path. The award helped me realize that I am. In addition to that, this honor fuels my energy and reinforces my enjoyment and dedication to my work.\u201d<\/p><cite>Jihyun Ma<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Her nominators said \u201cJihyun is a great team member. She is flexible, responds to address the investigators needs and works diligently to meet important deadlines. Jihyun has created beautifully written reports with awesome accessibility features that allow the researchers to access the results with a click of the mouse. Jihyun always received positive feedback from researchers she has been working with and is frequently requested by investigators to work specifically on their funded and unfunded projects. She is very deserving of this award; we recommend her without reservation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jihyun joined the COPH in 2018 as Statistician II in the Biostatistics Department. She said her love for \u201cbig data\u201d came at an early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWhen I was young, I was a big fan of MacGyver, a TV series. The show contained a lot of scientific theories: biology, chemistry, physics, technology, and his favorite tool, a Swiss army knife.&nbsp; To me, my Swiss army knife is data and I believed that with enough data given, we could explain, prevent, and solve any medical or psychological problems and challenges in the future.\u201d<\/p><cite>Jihyun Ma<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations
