{"id":90908,"date":"2022-09-06T16:11:40","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T21:11:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=90908"},"modified":"2022-09-08T10:33:15","modified_gmt":"2022-09-08T15:33:15","slug":"college-of-public-health-staff-member-receives-catalyst-for-education-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/09\/06\/college-of-public-health-staff-member-receives-catalyst-for-education-award\/","title":{"rendered":"College of Public Health staff member receives Catalyst for Education Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Laura Vinson, MPH, Service Learning, Programs Manager for the Office of Public Health Practice within the UNMC College of Public Health was recently recognized with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/academy\/teaching\/catalyst-award.html#:~:text=The%20Catalyst%20for%20Education%20award%2C%20sponsored%20by%20the%20Academy%2C%20recognizes,the%20educational%20mission%20at%20UNMC.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Catalyst for Education Award.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award, sponsored by the Interprofessional Academy of Educators, \u201crecognizes an individual in an educational support role whose contributions have been integral to furthering the educational mission at UNMC.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her nominators said \u201cLaura is someone who cares about a student\u2019s success. She has been a champion for students and communities at UNMC for over a decade. Laura has been instrumental in building community-based partnerships throughout Nebraska, the US, and the world. She is an excellent example of UNMC\u2019s commitment to high quality and state-of-the-art educational experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After being recognized as the 2022 recipient, Laura said, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI was sincerely humbled to have been nominated.
