The Great Plains Institutional Development Award program for Clinical and Translational Research (IDeA-CTR) and the UNMC Department of Biostatistics are sponsoring a free, full-day workshop on COVID-19 disease modeling on Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees have the option to attend virtually or in-person at the Harold M. and Beverly Maurer Center for Public Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will feature two world-renowned speakers: Danyu Lin, PhD, Dennis Gillings Distinguished Professor, department of biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Nilanjan Chatterjee, PhD, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor, department of biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ying Zhang, PhD, Chair of the UNMC Department of Biostatistics, stressed the importance of the workshop. \u201cIt is critical in COVID-19 research to ascertain the vaccine efficacy in preventing the infection and COVID hospitalization in different variants, and to integrate multiple data sources for studying the adverse outcomes of COVID-19,” he said. “The two speakers will present their influential research outcomes in addressing these issues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
