{"id":91554,"date":"2022-09-26T14:35:09","date_gmt":"2022-09-26T19:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=91554"},"modified":"2025-02-24T10:05:06","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T16:05:06","slug":"search-committee-set-for-physiology-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/09\/26\/search-committee-set-for-physiology-chair\/","title":{"rendered":"Search committee set for physiology chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The UNMC College of Medicine has announced the search committee that will lead a national search to recruit a new chair for the UNMC Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former chair, Merry Lindsey, PhD, left UNMC earlier this year. Rebekah Gundry, PhD, has been serving as interim chair since July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vimla Band, PhD, chair of the UNMC Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy, will lead the search committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the chair of the recruitment committee, I am extremely pleased with the composition of the committee with diverse expertise,\u201d Dr. Band said. \u201cThis will help us recruit a nationally\/internationally recognized leader in physiology to be the next chairperson of the UNMC Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other committee members are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Erika Boesen, PhD, UNMC Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kaushik Patel, PhD, UNMC Department of Surgery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ruxana Sadikot, MD, UNMC Department of Internal Medicine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Justin Mott, MD, PhD, UNMC Department of Biochemistry Molecular Biology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Georgette Kanmogne, PhD, UNMC Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neurology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ann Anderson Berry, MD, PhD, UNMC Department of Pediatrics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Karen Gould, PhD, UNMC Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Armando de Alba, MD, UNMC Department of Family Medicine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Austin Gowen, physiology graduate
