Donald Warne, MD, will speak on \u201cIntegrating Public Health, Medicine and Indigenous Cultural Approaches to Healing\u201d at noon Oct. 19 at the 2022 Berggren Lectureship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Warne, a member of the Oglala Lakota tribe from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, serves as Johns Hopkins University Provost Fellow in Indigenous Health Policy and professor and co-director of the Center for Indigenous Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will take place in Room 3013 of the Maurer Center for Public Health on the UNMC Omaha campus. Lunch will be served for attendees beginning at 11:15 a.m. in the third-floor commons of the building. The event is open to the community for no charge, but registration<\/a> is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Warne comes from a long line of traditional healers and medicine men. He serves as the senior policy advisor to the Great Plains Tribal Leader\u2019s Health Board in Rapid City, South Dakota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Warne received his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1995 and his MPH from Harvard School of Public Health in 2002. His work experience includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
