{"id":93162,"date":"2022-11-03T15:09:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T20:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=93162"},"modified":"2022-11-03T11:51:24","modified_gmt":"2022-11-03T16:51:24","slug":"annual-employee-giving-campaign-begins-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/11\/03\/annual-employee-giving-campaign-begins-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual employee giving campaign begins Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p><br>The 2022 UNMC Employee Giving campaign will begin next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Those who were struggling before the pandemic are facing even greater hardships due to inflation with housing, utilities, food and more,&#8221; said UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD. &#8220;Our participation in this campaign is vital. This year, we have set a campus participation goal of 50%. It is my hope that the UNMC family will join together at that rate or better and let our community know we stand behind them.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, employees have the opportunity to participate via two different pathways: the United Way of the Midlands campaign and Give Nebraska, formerly the Community Service Fund of Nebraska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some details about this year&#8217;s campaign:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Begins Monday, Nov. 7, and runs through Nov. 30. Employees will receive an email from the UNMC Today account. In this email, employees will click on the links of the funds they wish to support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Giving options:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees have the option to direct their contributions to either of the following organizations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>United Way of the Midlands, which supports a variety of human-service program providers across the Omaha\/Council Bluffs area. United Way-supported programs create life-changing opportunities by meeting the basic needs of the area&#8217;s most vulnerable populations, supporting children during their academic years and helping to prepare young people for productive careers. Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedwaymidlands.org\/circle-of-support-investments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> to view a list of supported programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give Nebraska, which connects donors to the causes they care about most. With more than 70 non-profit agencies to choose from, donors can determine where their money goes. A list of supported agencies can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.givenebraska.org\/member-agencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Incentives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, UNMC has a goal of 50% employee participation. To help meet the campus goal, incentives are being offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those who pledge at least $10 total will be eligible to win a prize each week of the campaign.
