Gold, MD, chancellor of UNMC. \u201cUnfortunately, the lingering effects of the pandemic and ever-rising inflation have left many of our fellow Nebraskans vulnerable, so I ask you to join me in making a much-needed contribution to this year\u2019s campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WbIzMwN0sLA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Hear from Chancellor Gold on why this year&#8217;s campaign is important.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"UNMC Employee Giving Campaign 2022\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WbIzMwN0sLA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, employees have the opportunity to participate via two different pathways: the United Way of the Midlands campaign and Give Nebraska (formerly the Community Service Fund of Nebraska).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC has set a goal of 50% employee participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>United Way of the Midlands, which supports a variety of human-service program providers across the Omaha\/Council Bluffs area. United Way-supported programs create life-changing opportunities by meeting the basic needs of the area&#8217;s most vulnerable populations, supporting children during their academic years and helping to prepare young people for productive careers. Click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedwaymidlands.org\/circle-of-support-investments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> to view a list of supported programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give Nebraska, which connects donors to the causes they care about most. With more than 70 non-profit agencies to choose from, donors can determine where their money goes. A list of supported agencies can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.givenebraska.org\/member-agencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>See these instructions for more details on donating. For additional security purposes, a few changes have been made since last year\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>United Way of the Midlands:&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/net.unmc.edu\/eserv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a>. (The link goes to the UNMC eServ page.)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees can sign in with their UNMC username and password.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once logged in, click the&nbsp;\u201cred\u201d&nbsp;link to donate to the United Way of the Midlands.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Login in with the username and password emailed this morning from \u201cepledge@uwmidlands.org\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Donate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A \u201cno pledge\u201d option is available for employees who choose not to donate. Employees who are unable to contribute are encouraged to access the ePledge website and submit a \u201cno donation\u201d response. <strong>A \u201cno donation\u201d response counts toward total employee participation.<\/strong> After an employee has submitted a donation or no donation response, United Way will no longer send additional giving emails this month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Give Nebraska: <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/net.unmc.edu\/eserv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a>. (The link goes to the UNMC eServ page.)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees can sign in with their UNMC username and password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once logged in, click the&nbsp;\u201cblue\u201d&nbsp;link to donate to Give Nebraska.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register and donate. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees can give by credit card on the online giving site, as well as through payroll deduction, cash or check. Campaign pledges, which can be made through UNMC&#8217;s payroll deduction, are automatically withdrawn from the last check in December 2022 for biweekly paid employees and January 2023 for employees paid monthly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help meet the campus goal of 50% employee participation, UNMC is offering incentives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those who pledge at least $10 total will be eligible to win a prize each week of the campaign. Donations made by Fridays at 3 p.m. qualify for that week&#8217;s drawing, as well as subsequent drawings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The earlier the donation, the better the chance at winning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drawing winners will be notified via email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For questions regarding this year&#8217;s campaign, contact&nbsp;<a
