{"id":93414,"date":"2022-11-13T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-14T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=93414"},"modified":"2022-11-11T09:39:14","modified_gmt":"2022-11-11T15:39:14","slug":"unmc-adds-additional-saliva-pcr-testing-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/11\/13\/unmc-adds-additional-saliva-pcr-testing-location\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC adds additional saliva PCR testing location"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Effective this week (Nov. 14), saliva PCR testing will expand on UNMC\u2019s Omaha campus for faculty, staff and students who are not sick and want to be tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To provide greater accessibility, saliva PCR testing will be available from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/WilliamsScienceHall042721.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-70761\" width=\"567\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/WilliamsScienceHall042721.jpg 705w, https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/WilliamsScienceHall042721-300x173.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 567px) 100vw, 567px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Williams Science Hall<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mondays and Wednesdays in the Williams Science Hall, level one atrium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuesdays and Thursdays on the third floor between the Durham Outpatient Center and the Fred &amp; Pamela Buffett Cancer Center (by the Z elevators)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No reservations are needed, but individuals should&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/nulirt.nebraskamed.com\/testing\/register\/PXX00164\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">register online prior to testing<\/a>.&nbsp;Individuals who have previously registered for saliva testing do not need to re-register. This testing is available only to UNMC faculty, staff and students and is provided by UNMC\u2019s Emerging Pathogens Laboratory. The testing is not available to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe encourage individuals to continue to get tested, especially as the holidays approach and people attend more events,\u201d said Jane Meza, PhD, interim executive director of the Office of Health Security. \u201cSince Nebraska\u2019s case counts have risen over the past weeks it made sense to have our testing site expand to be more accessible to the campus community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/coronavirus\/campus-guidance.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See testing options for UNMC campuses outside of Omaha<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nasal swab collection for COVID PCR testing remains available<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nasal swab collection for COVID PCR testing also can be obtained at the Nebraska Medicine Doctors Building South. This is a simple, painless nasal swab and is not a nasopharyngeal test.\u00a0An\u00a0appointment is required,\u00a0and walk-ins are not allowed.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/services\/nasal-swab.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Use this link<\/a>\u00a0to review available dates and times and reserve an appointment.
