Giving Tuesday has become a tradition of giving following Thanksgiving weekend. This year\u2019s Giving Tuesday is today, Nov. 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If donors wish to support important causes related to UNMC on this day or throughout this season of giving, there are ways to make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Show love for UNMC during the We \u2665 UNMC Campaign<\/a>. Gifts to this effort on Giving Tuesday or during this giving season will support the UNMC Student Scholarship Fund, making health care education more affordable for deserving students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donors who make a gift of $60 or more between Nov. 22 and Dec. 1 will receive a pair of exclusive UNMC socks as a token of appreciation. Give at this link.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awarded by the UNMC Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, scholarships play a vital role in education, bridging a gap for students who are capable and driven to succeed but lack financial resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danielle Dircks of Omaha is a recent scholarship recipient. She was notified of an award the summer before she started at UNMC, at a time when, like many, she was concerned about whether she\u2019d survive the demands of medical school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReceiving this scholarship was an excellent reminder, not only of all the hard work that led me to where I was, but also of the extensive resources available to me throughout my journey to become a physician. I am very grateful,\u201d Dircks said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
