The UNMC College of Medicine received grant and funding awards representing nearly $3.5 million in new funding in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stacey Gilk, PhD,<\/strong> pathology\/microbiology, received a grant of $230,250 from DHHS\/NIH\/NIAD for a study of coxiella secreted proteins mediating inter-organelle membrane contact sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olga Taraschenko, MD, PhD,<\/strong> neurological sciences, received a grant of $109,890 from Nebraska DHHS for in vivo monitoring of neurogenesis in encephalitis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bin Duan, PhD,<\/strong> internal medicine-cardiovascular, received a grant of $81,652 from Nebraska DHHS for a study of targeted MSC exosomes for neuropathic pain relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aviva Abosch, MD, PhD,<\/strong> neurosurgery, received a grant of $50,031 from the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus for a study of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for severe treatment refractory methamphetamine use disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna Dunaevsky, PhD,<\/strong> neurological sciences, received a grant of $50,000 from the FRAXA Research Foundation for a study on astrocyte contribution to sensory hypersensitivity in FXS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivek Dutt, MBBS,<\/strong> orthopedic surgery, received a grant of $12,308 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha for a study on the mechanics of overground, dry and aquatic treadmill walking in children and\u00a0adolescents with cerebral palsy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sidharth Mahapatra, MD, PhD,<\/strong> pediatrics-critical care, received a grant of $9,999 from the University of Pennsylvania for PROSpect\u00a0— The Prone and Oscillation Pediatric Clinical Trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyrus Desouza, MBBS,<\/strong> internal medicine-DEM, received a grant of $6,000 from the Nebraska Educational Biomedical Research Association as an ICA for Payton Hurlburt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prasanth Ravipati, MD,<\/strong> internal medicine-nephrology, received funding for a trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sibeprenlimab administered subcutaneously in subjects with immunoglobulin A nephropathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Holstein, MD, PhD,<\/strong> internal medicine-oncology\/hematology, received funding for a study of elranatamab, a B-cell maturation antigen CD3 bispecific antibody, in combination with other anti-cancer treatments in participants with relapsed\/refractory multiple myeloma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christopher D\u2019Angelo, MD,<\/strong> internal medicine-oncology\/hematology, received funding for a study of FT819 in subjects with B-cell malignancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Goldsweig, MD,<\/strong> internal medicine-cardiovascular, received funding for a multi-center controlled clinical investigation comparing PFO outcomes of the Occlutech Flex II PFO occluder to standard of care PFO occlusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Lunning, DO,<\/strong> internal medicine-oncology\/hematology, received funding for a multicenter study of MT-101 in subjects with CD5+ relapsed\/refractory peripheral T cell lymphoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
