    Mechanisms of DNA damage response pathways<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why is research important in the world today?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Research and innovation shape \u201clife\u201d now and the future.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    My research will make a difference because:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It helps understand how damage to the DNA \u2014 the blueprint of life \u2014 drives the development of cancer, premature aging syndromes and aging. Our research aims to understand the basic science underlying genome maintenance, identify new targets and biomarkers for cancer therapy and facilitate the development of strategies to overcome drug resistance to improve cancer therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The best advice I\u2019ve ever received is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where there is a will there\u2019s a way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Three things you may not know about me are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • I was a high jump gold medalist in my school for three consecutive years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • I love solving puzzles and watching murder mysteries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
