The program offers a master\u2019s or PhD degree with multidisciplinary didactic education and practical research grant writing training in clinical translational research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim is to accelerate faculty in developing a program of research and become productive, independent clinical and translational research investigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholars in this program can apply for a $25,000 pilot project grant that will support collection of pilot data needed to submit for extramural funding. Since 2007, the CTRMSP program has awarded 20 pilot project grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples of recently funded MSP scholars are:&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Armando De Alba, MD, assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Family Medicine, for his project, &#8220;COACH-ES: A Cardiovascular Disease Risk Reduction Program for Hispanics.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elizabeth Wellsandt, DPT, PhD, associate professor in the UNMC Department of Health &amp; Rehabilitation Sciences, for her project, \u201cRole of Physical Activity in Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis: Supplement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application deadline is April 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/gradstudies\/programs\/msia\/clinical-translational-research-mentored-scholars-program\/admissions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Access this link
